Milwaukee has just released their new M12 radio, Milwaukee M12 Radio Charger 2951-20.
Its been many years since the original M12 radio was launched and while it was and still is a great portable radio, it lacks some of the features we use today such as bluetooth and the abililty to have USB charging for our portable devices. Sure, Milwaukee introduced the M12 bluetooth speaker a few years back that takes care of those two extra features but its only a speaker and not a radio and relies on a wired or wireless connection to provide tunes. The new Milwaukee M12 radio has all the features we want all in one, its a radio with bluetooth and USB 2.1 fast charging and on top of that, it can charge your M12 batteries when its plugged in!
The new M12 radio charger, unlike the previous M12 radio that had two separate stereo speakers, is a single speaker with a full-range speaker and tweeter. It is claimed to have clear mids and highs. I’m okay with it not being stereo because two small speakers that are so close together can be heard far away negates the stereo effect. It appears the new M12 radio might have better sound and might be louder too. Runtime is said to be up to 10 hours on a compact 2.0 ah battery.
The sleek design of the radio/charger allows for multiple integrated hanging options that enhance its portability. Users can hang it wherever they are. It has a keyhole that can be used to center the radio/charger and a hollow handle that can be used for passing-through hanging on common materials. To protect internal components, the radio/charger has an impact-resistant exterior that allows it to withstand drops and impacts. It can withstand water and debris, but not lose sound quality, thanks to its IP54 rating.
