Milwaukee now has a double charger, the Milwaukee M18 Dual Bay Simultaneous Rapid Charger (48-59-1802).
Milwaukee claims that the new Milwaukee M18 Dual Bay Simultaneous Rapid Charging Station 48-59-1802 can charge up to two M18 batteries simultaneously and it is 3x faster than a regular sequential charger. Thats because as already mentioned, it can charge two batteries at the same time and can charge each battery up to 40% faster than a stock charger because its also a rapid charger. Milwaukee rapid chargers are faster than stock chargers but sit below the Milwaukee super charger which can charge High Output batteries up to 4x faster than a stock charger.
This charger sits between the dual voltage rapid charger and the rapid charge station and is perfect for a single power user that goes through a moderate amount of batteries per work day and has no need to charge M12 batteries. A heavy user or a team who also uses needs to charge M12 batteries would be better off with the rapid charge station.
The one odd thing about the new M18 dual bay simultaneous rapid charger is that it can only charge M18 batteries. Most of Milwaukees chargers are dual voltage chargers which basically means they can charge both M12 12 volt and M18 18 volt batteries on the same charger. I find this a little strange since many Milwaukee cordless power tool users use both M18 and M12 tools on the job. I think Milwaukee probably did this to keep the dual bay charger as compact as possible and to save on cost for those that dont have a need to charge M12 batteries.
The Milwaukee M18 Dual Bay Simultaneous Rapid Charging Station 48-59-1802 has been priced at and will be made available in February 2022.
