Harbor Freights Bauer brand has been adding many corded tools alongside their 20v cordless offerings. The 13 cm random orbit sander and sheet finishing sander are among the latest additions. These tools appear to be marketed towards homeowners and weekend warriors.
The Chicago Electric model gives the impact wrench a significant boost in torque at 106.7 mlbs. It also has a drive hog anvil to use any drive impact sockets.
My thoughts: As Ive said in several of my other articles about new Harbor Freight releases, Im glad to see improvements to corded tools as well as cordless tools. These new bauer tools appear to be a nice step up in terms of specs and build quality. Although I haven’t tried them yet, I did see them in the shop and noticed a marked improvement in their ergonomics and construction over the Chicago Electric products. They feel smoother, and have a rubber overmold that provides comfort for extended periods of use. The only thing that isn’t appealing about the plastic is the short 90-day warranty. I should also mention that the prices are not inclusive of coupons. This means you can expect to get some great deals when using coupons. Other than that these should be a great fit for any homeowner/DIYer looking for affordable corded options.
